Reminder that the secret santa deadline is approaching.
I thought I'd do this again this year - I haven't been doing anywhere near as much art as I want to, so I'm thinking this might give me the push I need.

So what is a Secret Santa? You do some art for someone, and get some art in return.  (Think of it as an extra Christmas present to and from a stranger)
 
This is open to anyone of any level of talent, as long as you are willing to try hard! The deadline for signups is the 15th of November, and the deadline for art is the 21st December (to be posted as close to the 25th as possible - but definitely before if you can't make it on the day).

Comment in this journal saying that you are interested in joining, and link me to your wishlist, or else include the wishlist in a comment.  Also say what you are able to draw (or write) - for instance if you would rather draw boys or girls (in case not everyone's wishlists have a mixture of both), if you would draw anthro, etc), and if you would accept poetry/a story, or would prefer a picture!

Please advertise this, and include Blank-Muse's stamp in your journal if possible!


I will note you with the person who's present you will be making on the 20th(slight delay as i gather in last lists of November (I try and choose randomly, but will redraw if anyone only has things someone else won't draw), and then you choose something from the wishlist and start work!

I've been using a website called habitrpg for the last few months, and it's absolutely fantastic, so I thought I'd share information about it in case it would be of any help to any of you.  I'm incredibly unorganised, and it has really helped me to get on top of things and get what I need done completed.

You start with a little pixelated character, which you can change the skin color, hair color, clothes and build of.  You write down a list of things that you need to do as a one off (To-Dos), things you have to do every day (Dailies), and things that you want to start doing, or stop doing (Habits).  For every one you complete and tick off, you get experience points, and gold, which you can use to buy equipment with added benefits, and also to buy rewards for yourself - such as internet use, episodes of TV programs, or whatever else you'd like to do. 

You can join guilds, as well as small parties, and take part in challenges that are open to everyone who uses the game.  Winners are selected, and there is the chance to win prizes.

As you continue playing, you get to customise your character more, and have the chance to get pets which you can then feed up so that you have mounts.  There are at least 90 different pets that you can get, and various achievements that you can unlock.

I've found it really helpful to organise what I need to get done.  You can make up checklists and things, and tick them off, and as you gain levels from more experience more features get unlocked.  I've just drawn mine and a friend's characters here:

Well, I hope this is of some use to at least someone!  Let me know if you try it out and if it's helpful, because... I know I struggle to keep track of things, and I find having it written down it really helps.  Plus cute pixel creatures and fun characters are always a benefit.

I've qualified for a teacher training course starting in September.  I'm going to be a history teacher!

Sorry that I haven't been saying much on here, I've been very busy.  I miss you all, and I'm working on some art at the moment, hope to speak to you all again soon!
